Sci-Fi Latino Noir Satire 

titled

NO GUACAMOLE
for Immigrant Haters!

Set in the very near future of 2028,
Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC)
wins the presidential election.

AOC becomes the first woman
Commander-In-Chief, 
La Jefa, 
and sets a Lowrider course for
LIVING LA VIDA LOCA.

Spanglish becomes the official language
with a Taco Truck on every corner.

In this 65-minute spoken word & music romp,
Torres-Tama assembles a new team of provocateurs,
and projects images of his award-winning figurative paintings
that address the anti-immigrant hysteria
gripping GrinGoLandia since 9/11.

This new Black & Brown spoken word & music ensemble
combines live art rituals, real-life immigrant stories & a musical sound-bed 
to develop a politically provocative performance
that is moving and comedic. 

The Arte Futuro Ensemble

& multi-instrumentalist.

A Vocalist / Spoken Word Poet
from the local community

A Musician Accordion Player
from the local community

This performance aims to engage local artists
from each community to collaborate
in developing this new music & spoken word
performance ritual. 

As part of the development process, JTT would come in
and conduct filmed interviews with members from the Hispanic / Latina/o
immigrant community, and would partner with local immigrant
organizations to develop the interviews concernig the recent
brutalities committed by the national ICE RAIDS.

These interviews would inform the performance
with real-life stories of immigrants living in the shadows
of a brutal anti-immigrant administration.

Also, performances would be developed for these partnering Latina/o
organizations and for their members.
Above all, this process is about
empowering immigrant communities
​that have been forced into hiding and silence.

A short film of 15 mins will be developed, 
will be shown at performance & theater workshops
the artist will host to engage a variety community voices
in arts and activism practices.

The film serves as a means to chronicle
the lives of immigrant communities and resistance
to a hostile administration.

There is 
"NO GUACAMOLE for Immigrant Haters!”
because you can’t love the food
and demonize the cooks.

Also, he channels a new sci-fi persona
"El Obie-Juan Kenobi"
the Last Jedi Immigrant Defender.

This new ensemble project brings
FOOD, VISUAL ARTS,
MUSIC & PERFORMANCE
together for a unique comedic spectacle
set in a bizarre sci-fi future.

If possible, the commisssioning art center,
can host an actual art show of the artworks to run
in conjunction with the live art performance.
 
Torres-Tama would rent a UHAUL,
and drive the artworks to the city
​for the respective art exhibition that can
last beyond the performance debut.
